We desire to honor Christ by caring for little ones in a clean, safe, orderly environment. We pray for the children entrusted to our care and acquaint them with the Scriptures. Our nursery is available on Sundays to serve newborns through age two.
Emily Duch is our Nursery Coordinator. Please contact Emily if you have any questions about our nursery.
Well-Child Policy
We ask that you do not put your child in the nursery if they are experiencing any of the symptoms listed below. We hope that by following these guidelines we can decrease the spread of illnesses among the children and nursery staff.
- Fever of 100 degrees or more within the past 24 hours
- Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea within the past 24 hours
- A cough
- Drainage from the nose
- Any undiagnosed rash (other than mild heat rash or common diaper rash)
- An eye infection
If a child becomes ill during a service, the nursery staff will notify the parent.
If a child comes down with a contagious condition (such as chicken pox, measles, pin worms, lice, etc.) and was in the nursery just before or at the onset of the illness, please let the Nursery Coordinators know. They will then inform other parents whose children may have been exposed. A notice will be handed to parents of children in the nursery regarding possible exposure. These guidelines also apply to staff as well.
Information for Parents
What to Bring
Please label all belongings. Diaper bag tags are provided for your convenience.
- A minimum of two disposable diapers or pull-ups.
- A complete change of clothes.
- Infants: a prepared bottle, bib, pacifier.
- One-year-olds: a non-spill sippy cup.
Check-In Procedures
Prior to placing your child in the nursery, please check their diaper to ensure that it is clean. A changing station is located in the family restroom if necessary. Please note any special instructions that will help us give your child the best care possible on the child registration card that will be given to you to fill out. You will also be assigned a pager. Please return the pager when you return to pick up your child at the end of the service.
Check-Out Procedures
If at all possible we ask that the same parent who dropped off the child, pick them up. We will not release children in our care to siblings or anyone unless we receive permission from you at the time of drop off. Please be patient. Allow the Caregiver time to assist each parent individually to be sure that all the belongings are going home with the right family. Please do not enter the nursery to collect your child. In consideration of your child and our volunteers, please be prompt in picking up your child. We understand that there may be circumstances that delay you and we will gladly care for your child until you arrive.
Feeding Children
We are happy to feed your infant a bottle. Please label and prepare the bottle ahead of time. If your child requires other food, you may use a high chair in the kitchen area and feed them there before dropping them off. Children are given a snack of graham crackers during the Sunday morning service. You should provide a filled non-spill sippy cup with your child's name clearly labeled on it. You may provide an alternative snack to the crackers if you prefer, but again we cannot give food with a spoon. Only parents are allowed to give medicine to their child. Do not put medicine of any kind in bottles prior to or while your child is in the nursery.
Staying With Your Child
Your child may cry when you leave, but that is not unusual. It is natural for the child to prefer the parent. It seems to help all the children if you leave quickly and do not noticeably check on them during the service. Most children will become involved in an activity and crying will subside. The crying will become less common with regular attendance. Every attempt will be made to console and comfort your child and to meet his/her needs. If this cannot be done, we will notify you.
Nursing Mothers
Our Nursing Mothers’ Room is located right next to the nursery.
